OUR ROADS

Enviable by many!

Our roads in Pinyon Crest span a total of about seven miles, and consist of natural decomposed granite (DG) from the hill they sit on.

Maintaining our roads to the standard in which we do requires several things 1) someone dedicated to maintain them 2) drivers to respect them.

A Pinyon Crest resident for decades, Tom Schnure, is contracted by our HOA for the painstaking task of maintaining our roads. This is a full time job, often including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and always includes all types of weather year round. Tom manages grading, skidding, watering,  blading, trenches, the run-offs, plus maintaining all the equipment that is needed. Also - Tom manages our water system.

The single most important way that drivers help maintain the roads is by respecting the 15mph speed limit to reduce dust and prevent tearing up the well-managed surface.

Browse through the gallery to see pictures of our beautiful roads and some of the trying times which have been overcome by Tom in the line of duty.
